{April) Planting herbs

We love gardening in the Spring and teaching the boys was so fun this year. Since Bend is in the high desert, it's harder to grow very many things here unless you make it your daily job. Plants need a lot of TLC here since they dry out so easily. We have very short Summers so timing is everything when it comes to gardening here in Bend. I wanted to show the boys  how to plant herbs this year. We planted cilantro, basil, and dill. I let them do all the watering and we kept a close eye on them while they sat outside on our back patio. They had so much fun watching the herbs grow. We also have strawberries in our back yard that they would pick daily and munch on as well as tomato plants. Brooklyn would just pick a tomato and start eating it like an apple. Here are a few pictures of the boys planting their little herb gardens.
