Brooklyn's first word at 5 months old!

Our baby boy is already 5 and 1/2 months old! During the past few weeks Brooklyn has learned how to sit on his own, say his first word "Momma", and he is almost crawling. He gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth like he's going to take off but instead he leaps like a frog. I still nurse him but he also eats sweet potatoes, rice cereal, applesauce, squash, carrots, peaches, and avocados. The other day Matt said "I love you" to Brooklyn and Brooklyn hummed it right back. It was such a cute moment.

It has been a very hot summer, Brooklyn gets grumpy in the heat so we have been staying indoors a lot lately. Matts grandma, Matts mom, Brooklyn, and I started attending church 2 Sunday's ago which was refreshing. We plan on going every Sunday that we can. One of Brooklyn's favorite things to do is people watch so he loved watching the other little kids and listening to the music.

We haven't made any big plans for the summer besides visiting relatives and attending a friends wedding. We were wanting to take a trip down to California to visit Matts dad and family but we aren't sure we'll be able to since money is tight right now.
