2011 Children's Festival

At the end of July we decided to head over to the Children's Festival at the Riverbend Park with Grandma Diane since Daddy was working.  We didn't let Brooklyn up on the inflatable's since they were loaded with the bigger kids but he had a good time watching.  The day turned out to be in the low 90's with no wind so we were looking for shade any chance we got.  Daddy ended up meeting up with us toward the end after he got off work.

Our first stop was at this station where the kiddos got to play in glitter water

B boy got a kick out of this octopus sprinkler (and so did we since it was so hot outside). The tentacles swung in every direction and it was so random that every once in a while I would get splashed from where I took this picture.  Brooklyn was moving in closer and closer but couldn't figure out why he would only get splashed sometimes.  The look on his face was priceless.

After ice cream (still wearing it on our face), Brooklyn spotted this station where there were hundreds of stuffed animals piled up, still new with all the tags and lucky we are, we got to take one home for each of the boys.

Time to go fishing!  We tried to convince Brooklyn to stand outside of the pool while he fishes but we gave up after a few tries.  At this station, the kids caught a fish with their pole and then stuck it on a huge board that shows different rivers.  It was a cute idea.

The Kiddoz Playcenter station was abandoned so we decided to sit under their awning to relax and play for awhile.

Daddy met up with us and then we stopped for some belly dancing

Riverbend park is right on the Deschutes River in the Old mill district here in Bend so we decided to leave the festival to cool off in the water with Grandma Diane.
